The Imed Gemini PC-1 is a single-channel, linear peristaltic volumetric infusion device with ultrasonic air detection, which can be operated either as a controller or as a positive-pressure pump. Secondary (piggyback) medications can be automatically infused at rates and volumes independent of the primary infusion parameters, with automatic changeover to the primary at the conclusion of the secondary infusion. The PC-1 also has a 20-step program feature, called the VersaTaper mode, which allows stepped program of sequential rates and volumes for TPN or antibiotic infusion. The pump can be configured as a Micro pump (rates from 0.1-99.9 ml/hr.) or as a Macro pump (1-999 ml/hr). An RS-232 port is included and allows the pump to serve either as the control or slave unit for computer monitoring.
